AVRPT is happy to inform that five new Upanisad audio series have been added to the 'Teachings of Swami Dayananda' app. Pujya Swamiji taught these Upanisads along with the commentary of Shankara (Bhasyam) during the 4th long-term course on Vedanta and Sanskrit at AVG Anaikatti, from 2010-2013.
The Upanisads added to the app are: MUNDAKA, KENA, KATHA, MANDUKYA and TAITTIRIYA
The new Upanisad series are for advanced students of Vedanta as Swamiji freely uses the Sanskrit language in these classes. During long-term courses the students study Sanskrit, and Swamiji uses the language in his classes without explaining every word or sentence. Naturally, an appropriate knowledge of Sanskrit is indispensable to follow these audio series.
Pujya Swamiji's app also includes classes on KAIVALYA, MUNDAKA and KENA Upanisad taught without Shankara's commentary. These Upanisad audio series can be studied by students of Vedanta without knowledge of Sanskrit language.
The 'Teachings of Swami Dayananda' app includes further a 'Mahavakya Vicara' series (audio&video) in which Pujya Swamiji teaches the profound meaning of mahavakyas found in the Upanisads, like 'Ayam Atma Brahma', 'Prajnanam Brahma', 'Tat Tvam Asi' or 'Aham Brahma Asmi'. Mahavakyas, literally 'great sayings' or 'profound sentences', are equations found in the Upanisads of the four Vedas. They reveal that the truth of the individual (atma) and the total (Ishvara or Brahman) is essentially one and the same reality.
The 'Mahavakya Vicara' series doesn't require prior knowledge of Vedanta or Sanskrit. |
